You will need to add or delete items to suit your match and range conditions. We are not responsible if you don't include the necessary items in your personal safety briefing.
Thank you all for coming to our match. Safety is our number one priority and unsafe gun handling will not be tolerated.
Always follow the 4 universal gun safety rules
We run a cold range. That means no ammo or magazines in the firearm until you are on the line and the safety officer instructs you to make ready. The only other time you can handle your firearm is when you are in one of our safe gun handling areas. Do not take ammo of any kind into the safe gun handling area. Loaded firearms can only be handled under direct supervision of a safety officer.
Action pistol is inherently dangerous and ricochets will happen. Because of this, eye and ear protection is mandatory for everyone on the range including spectators.
This is a volunteer sport. If you are not the on deck shooter, the shooter, or the person that just finished shooting, you are expected to help paste targets, reset steel and keep the match moving in an efficient manner.
The 180 rule is in effect for our match and breaking the 180 in any direction will result in a disqualification. (The IDPA rulebook has an extensive section on the 180 rule) The safety officer will attempt to issue a warning by saying "Muzzle". This is a courtesy and cannot always be said quickly enough to warn the shooter.
Your finger must never be in the trigger guard unless you are actively engaging targets. This includes when moving from one position to another and when completing reloads. The safety officer will try to issue a warning by saying "Finger". Depending on the sport and number of offensives, this can result in a match disqualification.
